BMW Motorrad UK is excited to announce the launch of its 2012 Track Activities programme. Riders can improve their skills with World Superbike and Grand Prix racers on BMW Motorrad Track & Training Days, and discover the blistering performance of the stunning S 1000 RR on the BMW Motorrad Dealer RR Track Experience.

BMW Motorrad’s Track & Training Days, run in partnership with Europe’s leading trackday organiser Focused Events, offer riders the opportunity to experience the adrenaline-filled excitement of riding a supersports motorcycle on one of the UK’s very best racetracks, while becoming a more confident, skilled and safer rider.

With the announcement of 2012’s dates, BMW Motorrad is inviting owners of the award-winning RR, or of any other supersports motorcycle, to book their place on a BMW Motorrad Track & Training Day at either Silverstone or Donington Park.

Attendees will get to meet and be instructed by one of three star riders: WSBK champion Neil Hodgson, ex-GP rider Niall Mackenzie or TT and BSB rider Steve Plater. By the end of the day, riders will be more confident, feel more connected with the RR and be better able to make the most of their motorcycle in day-to-day riding.

With plenty of track time guaranteed, S 1000 RR owners, or those choosing to hire one for the day’s riding, will have the opportunity to improve their riding skills while learning how to make the most of the RR’s state-of-the-art Dynamic Traction Control and Race ABS in controlled environments. In addition, owners of other models of motorcycle will be given the opportunity to try out a 2012 BMW S 1000 RR for a 20-minute taster session.

Each Track & Training Days experience will cover three main key areas: building confidence on track, body positioning, and using the RR’s cutting edge traction control and ABS systems. As well as learning from the experts during engaging one-on-one instruction, riders will have the opportunity to put this, and more, into practice during the three instructed sessions on the track and three sessions on a dedicated body-positioning loop.

BMW Park Lane Race Support will be on hand to offer expert technical advice, from tyre choice and pressure to suspension set up, modifications and the vast range of BMW HP parts available for the S 1000 RR.

In addition to being at every BMW Track & Training Day and Dealer Track Experience, BMW Park Lane Race Support Service are on hand at all rounds of British Superbikes, Silverstone MotoGP and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, as well as supporting all BMW entrants at MRO Club Races and Focused Events European Track Days.

Places cost £295 for owners riding their own supersport bike, or £495 for the hire of a 2012 S 1000 RR for the day. BMW Motorrad and Focused Events will provide breakfast, refreshments during the day and on-site BMW Race Support Service.

BMW Motorrad Dealer RR Track Experience.

Potential owners now have the opportunity to discover the amazing potential of the new 2012 BMW S 1000 RR during track riding sessions at five of the UK’s finest race tracks. 

BMW Motorrad has always offered road-based test rides via its Dealership network, but riders can now experience a track-prepared RR at their choice of circuit.

Following a safety briefing and introduction to their track of choice, riders will be invited to join instructors for a 20-minute session on the circuit, designed to familiarise them with the RR’s potential, as well as the cutting-edge traction control and Race ABS features, in an exciting and fun environment. Riders will also be able to get advice and assistance from the BMW Park Lane Race Support Service.
