Five Day Scotland Tour – 17 to 21 May, 2010
Looking for a wee bit of riding adventure? You’ll like this one then. Especially if you really like to ride. Join us for an unforgettable five days exploring Scotland on some of the best roads through the finest scenery in the UK.
- Day 1 A great tour begins with great routes so after a very short stint on the M6 we’ll take to North Yorkshire’s curvaceous and panoramic A and B roads. Our overnight stay in the Scottish Borders is a cosy B&B in historic Jedburgh. 217 miles from M6/M56 Lymm Services
- Day 2 This is the day we really begin to experience Scotland proper. We’ll visit the amazing Falkirk Wheel and stop for photos at Stirling Castle before heading north through the Trossachs and the stunning ‘Lord of the Rings’ scenery of Glen Coe. A welcoming B&B in bucolic Fort Augustus is our evening destination. 233 miles
- Day 3 The biggest day in terms of both mileage and scenery. Our itinerary includes Loch Ness’s iconic Urquhart Castle, the massive mountain moodiness of Glen Shiel and fairy tale Eileen Donan Castle. We’ll transit the alpine-like Pass of the Cattle before kissing Skye on our way
to a relaxing post-ride hot tub or sauna at our overnight B&B in Strontian. 243 amazing miles
- Day 4 A day of looping loch-side roads, misty sea-to-mountain vistas and fantastic photo-ops including the island redoubt of Castle Stalker. A short ferry ride across the Firth of Clyde will take us to our end of day B&B in peaceful seaside Girvan. 231 miles
- Day 5 Our last day but by no means the least. We’ll begin the day by skirting Galloway Forest National Park and visiting the artists’ town of Kirkudbright. Saving some of the best for last we’ll dance along the side of Ullswater, top the stony Kirkstone Pass and make our way past
fabled Windermere. 250 miles (to M6/M56 Lymm Services)
